Flavours of sessions
We have 3 flavours of sessions:
- Plenary sessions, 2 in total, one oriented towards Users and one towards Operations/Services;
- Parallel Science and Research sessions;
- Parallel Open sessions;
Plenary sessions: Users and Operations/Services
We foresee a User oriented session on Tuesday and a session on Operations and Services on Thursday.
The oral part of both plenary sessions takes 3 hours. The number of orals is defined to be between 8 and 10. Orals should be open and broad.
The number of posters is unlimited.
The
User-oriented session shall be broad across all
domains impacted by space weather (e.g. power grids, satellites, aviation). The session covers reports of end-user
impacts of space weather, presentations of user experience in using specific space weather products and services in their
production and mitigation chain, and user requirements for new or improved space weather services.
The
Operations and Services session shall also be broad-ranging, covering new developments
in space weather operations or services, best practice in transitioning research to operations and
verification activities.
Parallel Science and Research sessions
We foresee parallel Science and Research Sessions: maximal 3 on Monday and maximal 3 on Wednesday.
The oral part of the Science and Research sessions takes 3 hours. The number of orals is defined to be between 8 and 10. Orals should be open and broad.
The number of posters is unlimited.
The topics of the Science and Research sessions are:
- Solar Corona and Heliosphere
- The Science of Forecasting
- Space Weather Instrumentation
- Geomagnetic Storms
- Radiation Environments
- Thermosphere and Ionosphere
Parallel 100% community driven or Open sessions
We foresee 6 open sessions, 3 parallel before the Friday morning coffee break and 3 parallel after the Friday morning coffee break.
The oral part of all open sessions takes 1.5 hours. The number of orals is defined to be maximal 6.
