Abstract:
Since the discovery of the solar corona, many attempts have been made to model its behaviour. Those attempts can be divided to three broad categories: the scale-height, the hydrostatic, and the hydrodynamical models. However, all these models are known to have several limitations that were addressed only recently by Lemaire & Stegen (2016) and Lemaire & Katsiyannis (2021) who introduced the DYN model.
This presentation will explain the limitations of all previous models and how they were addressed by the DYN model. It will also elaborate on the temperature profile that it produces and how this is related tothe corona heating problem.
