Friday 22/11, 15:15-16:30
The Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellite (CGMS) Space Weather Coordination Group (SWCG) has initiated a series of surveys aimed at identifying gaps and disconnects between space weather raw data providers, service providers and operational satellite end-users. The objective of the surveys was to find out where the services are meeting the end user needs and where existing services could be improved and what end user needs are not met by existing services. This TDM will present the initial findings from the surveys identifying what works well, problem areas where more attention is required to improve the delivery of existing data (e.g. availability, latency) and what new measurement data would be needed to enable services to fill identified gaps. Discussion will be encouraged to harness further experiences and proposals for improving on the current situation. The results from this TDM will help CGMS to consider and coordinate opportunities to implement pilot projects aimed at improving the delivery of existing data and to carry out additional and new, important space weather measurements in the frameworks of operational meteorological satellite missions.
